David Lovell

Dr. David Lovell (B.V.Sc., M.A.C.V.SC., Q.D.A.H., G.C.M)

Partner and Business Manager

Dr Lovell has been the principal and founding partner for the Redlands Veterinary Clinic since its inception in 1978, and now The Horse Hospital at Wadham Park. His 38 years in equine practice have included four years in a large racing and breeding practice in the USA, periods of 1 year each in the equine clinics of the Universities of Melbourne and Queensland, and a 3 year research project at the University of Sydney. He has presented technical papers at veterinary conferences in Australia, USA, and Europe and has been the author of chapters in several text books. Dr Lovell has been President of the Australian Equine Veterinary Association and an executive member for 11years. He is currently a Director of the Australian Veterinary Association and a member of the Veterinary Surgeons Board of Queensland,. He is a Member of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in Equine Surgery, and an FEI accredited veterinarian. He offers a lifetime of experience in equine veterinary medicine and surgery, a very high profile in the Australian veterinary profession, and a long involvement in competitive horse sports, to his equine patients and their owners.

   
 Nick Kannegieter

Dr. Nick Kannegieter (B.V.Sc., Ph.D., F.A.C.V.Sc.)

Specialist Equine Surgeon

Dr Kannegieter is world renowned as an equine surgeon and has been a specialist in surgery for 20 years. Graduating from the University of Sydney Dr Kannegieter moved to New Zealand to complete a PhD in upper respiratory surgery and achieve his qualifications as a specialist surgeon. He was the Principal Surgeon at the University of Sydney for many years. He now runs a consultant specialist equine surgery practice in Sydney and Brisbane and is the Course Tutor for the University of Sydney Post-Graduate Foundation Education Program in Equine Surgery. Dr Kannegieter is regarded as one of the best arthroscopic, orthopaedic and respiratory surgeons in Australia. A former President of the Australian Equine Veterinary Association, and director of the Australian Veterinary Association, Dr Kannegieter is in demand all over Australia operating on horses, giving lectures and workshops as well as expert opinions for owners, trainers, insurance companies (livestock and professional indemnity), veterinary health care companies and veterinary professional organisations. 

   
Craig Simon

Dr. Craig Simon (B.V.Sc., GP Cert (EqP))

Manager, Mobile Veterinary Services

Dr Simon is a senior veterinarian working both at the Redlands practice and the Horse Hospital at Wadham Park. Craig graduated with honours from the University of Queensland and after spending 2 years in mixed practice in Beaudesert he relocated to the UK spending 4 years gaining valuable international experience in a specialist equine practice. During his time in UK he gained a General Practitioner Certificate in Equine Practice through the European School of Veterinary Studies. Since returning to Australia Craig has completed post graduate courses in Equine Surgery and Advanced Equine Dentistry. He is also a Certified Member of the AVA, this post nominal title reflecting an extensive continuing education commitment aimed at achieving Best Practice results for his clients.
